D walkers can take walk part of the trail to suit.
This is a flat linea ‘there and back’ walk taking in the uninhabited Mickleden Valley with a slightly alternative return route via Blea Tarn if preferred.
Starting at the Stickle Ghyll car park we walk the flat trails of the uninhabited Mickleden Valley.
C walkers can either return to car park and the New Dungeon Ghyll pub or extend the walk with a steep climb to Blea Tarn returning to the pub later. This adds an extra 2 miles to the walk.
There are well made paths throughout both parts of the walk with fabulous views of the Langdales throughout – weather permitting !
C walkers can bring a spare pair of socks and a towel if they want to paddle in Mickleden Beck and or dip in Blea Tarn.
